Landscapes in Legoland, Billund

I visited Legoland in Billund during the summer 2006. Here is a selection of pictures from Miniland (and two from other parts of Legoland).

Sweden

Typical wooden Swedish houses along a canal.

Norway

The habour in Bergen, if I remember correctly.

Market day

Open air market. Notice the large selection of T-shirts for sale.

The North Sea

Wind mills. One might suspect that Legoland is sponsored by Vestas.

Fishing boat

Typical North Sea fishing boat. The ship in the background is an off-shore supply ship for an oil-rig.

Fishing harbour

Scotish fishing village.

Roses

Notice the flowers (roses?) growing all around the door of the house.

Sweden

Houses along the Göta canal in Sweden.

Cattle

Some cattle has escaped. - Or where has the fence gone?

Olsen-Banden

The three figures walking along the pier are Olsen-Banden, some rather famous Danish criminals. The harbour is modelled on the one in Copenhagen.

Germany

A German river or canal town.

Lock

An advanced lock with three side reservoirs. I like the old-fashioned, open ones more, but it is quite impressive.

Canal elevators

These two canal elevators lift river barges up and down between the two sections of the canal.

Shipyard

On this shipyard they repair and construct traditional North Sea fishing boats.

Denmark

Danish fishing town.

Flamingoes

Where I lived before, the flamingoes were actually wild and alive flying over the city. Here they are just static models. - But some very pretty ones.
